Halo Halolens E3 Experience

This was a fun project to work on. It won a number of E3 awards and is the largest mixed media augmented reality project to date that I know of. Several large sci-fi sets of the UNSC Inifinity's debriefing room were built, totaling about the size of a football field on the E3 expo floor.

As senior artist on the project I worked on a number of the core elements in the experience. Some of those elements are shown here, such as the magic window, the globe, and a few others. I'm still digging up art I made for the project and looking for a full play through. If anyone knows where a video of the full play through is please hit me up!

Lots of time was spent tuning and animating the hex fade in and out on the globe.  It was a fun asset to make and animate.

This is a somewhat earlier version, with tighter hex's and an earlier version of the hex fade shader.

I remember specifically working on the globe while wearing the Hololens I would stick it the desk next to me in AR and tune the asset.  Pretty cool.

The magic window was one of my favorite pieces.  What isn't seen here is the animated mechanical shutter that opens up the window  up to the loading dock bellow.  This was overlaid on the physical set, and the effect worked really well.
